About Me
Hi,
My name is Sam Guertin and I am a digital artist from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA. I have had an interest in art all of my life. Ever since I was a small child I have always loved drawing whatever came to mind and things I saw around me. Through the years my relatives and teachers complimented me in my skill with drawing and so I decided to take up classes in middle school and high school that taught drawing and painting skills. I also was interested in computers and took numerous computer technology classes, as well as a basic programming and HTML coding class.
After several years of learning to illustrate with traditional media I finally decided to take both my passions and combine them by learning how to make art with computers. On my final year of high school I took a class called Communications Technology. This class taught the fundamentals of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe ImageReady, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, 3D modeling and animation, and video production. I graduated from Central Dauphin Senior High School in 2006 and during my four years there I received a Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate for Word 2002, a Pennsylvania Skills Certificate for Business Information Processing, and attended the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Expo and Conference in 2005.
Having showed considerable talent in all of the programs and having a passion for doing digital art I decided to attend college at the Kaplan Career Institute in Harrisburg to study Digital Arts. During the 18 month program I received several Honors and Distinguished Honors awards and completed an internship with PAontheweb LLC. I graduated from Kaplan Career Institute with an Associate's Degree in Digital Arts in 2009.
Today I design websites, logos, Flash applications and animations, and video for PAontheweb LLC. I also do work on personal projects, run this website, and provide my services to anyone who needs design work done for them.
As an artist I take pride in my creativity and problem solving abilities. I believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Everything that has ever been created started out as nothing more than a dream or idea. It takes passion and determination, in combination with a bit of skill, to make those dreams and ideas come true. I live and create by these ideals. This site itself, along with all that I create, starts out as nothing but an idea. Through each piece's development I have faced challenges, but I face each challenge with skill, passion and determination. And in this way I learn new things and grow as an artist.
